Vice President, Robotics
With more than two decades of experience in robotics, Brett has extensive experience architecting and developing robotics systems, with deep knowledge of every major subsystem relevant to a network of self-driving cars. While a senior faculty member at Carnegie Mellon’s Robotics Institute, Brett pursued field robotics research in defense, oil and gas, mining and automotive applications. He has extensive experience leading both small, specialized teams, and larger operations. While at Uber ATG, he led and grew the mapping and localization team from its inception. He received his Ph.D. (2000) and bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and science from the University of Queensland.
